Former Scientologists: Hollywood’s Favorite ‘Religion’ Forced Women to Have Abortions
by Big Hollywood
—–
A St. Petersburg Times investigation found their experiences were not unique. More than a dozen women said the culture in the Sea Org pushed them or women they knew to have abortions, in many cases, abortions they did not want.
Some said colleagues and supervisors pressured them to abort their pregnancies and remain productive workers without the distraction of raising children. Terminating a pregnancy and staying on the job affirmed one’s commitment to the all-important work of saving the planet. (more…)
DAY 43: Hollywood Ignores Gulf Oil Spill & Nashville Floods
by Big HollywoodIf there’s anything Hollywood does well and deserves credit for, it’s raising money for victims of natural disasters. For some reason, though, the flood that Nashville is still digging out from under – the flood that killed eleven people — has been almost completely ignored by Hollywood.
Same with the Gulf Oil Spill.

When you look at Hollywood’s recent history in rallying for this kind of thing, you’re left to ask why? Where are the telethons and public pleas for humanitarian assistance? Is it that the Nashville “rubes” don’t rate? Is it that calling any attention to the ongoing catastrophe in the Gulf can only hurt Their One? What else could it be?
Nashville stars came out for Nashville and good on them, and so did David Spade. But where was/is the big star-studded nationally televised gala?
And in the Gulf, with the exception of Kevin Costner, all we’ve seen thus far from Hollywood are shockingly shameless A-listers covering for Obama and behaving in ways little better than price-gougers as they cravenly exploit this environmental and economic catastrophe to push their own political agendas. Job-Killer Ashley Judd Claims Straight-Forward Question Is a Media Trick
by Big Hollywood
—–
CNSNews asks actor/activist Ashley Judd a perfectly straight-forward question about what to do with the Appalachian coalminers she’s absolutely determined to see banished to the unemployment line, and in response she freaks out that she’s being tricked.
CNS: “So the government should shut down the mine and then pay for these people to be trained in a new job?”
JUDD: “You know, I’m not going to get into that kind of detail because there are people who are policy expert at those particular kinds of questions. John could answer it. And I frankly don’t know who you are and I kind of have a feeling you’re trying to trick me.”

[F]resh from declaring “communism” as the answer to dealing with corporate misconduct in America, O’Donnell actually appears to agree that Jews should depart Israel for Germany and Poland, especially since (GET THIS) THE OVENS ARE GONE!

‘Karate Kid’ Filmmakers Agree to Chinese Censorship; Marvel Over How ‘The People Run the Country’
by Big Hollywood
If Sony made “Karate Kid” with a Chinese partner, it could be a part of that Asian gold rush, but the deal would come with some foreseeable obstacles, including possible government censorship.
Belgrad didn’t think long before giving his answer. “That was enough to say yes,” says Belgrad, who had long been fascinated by the country and had developed a “Sinbad” movie that would be set there. “It’s a fascinating place.”
Here’s the story’s best quote by way of James Lassiter, one of the film’s producers. (more…)
SPEECH POLICE: County Commission Stalls Val Kilmer’s Plans to Develop Property Until He ‘Explains Ethnically Insulting Comments’
by Big Hollywood***UPDATE: Most embarrassing grammatical error in the history of Big Hollywood has been fixed.
First off, though Kilmer claims he was misquoted, what he is accused of saying doesn’t even mention race. Second, in America, even the most vicious and divisive of racists are allowed to develop their own property. Have you seen Al Sharpton’s home?

Aggrieved by a planning board’s decision permitting Kilmer to rent out guesthouses on his 5,300-acre ranch, the neighbors charged that he had denied locals access to fishing holes in the nearby Pecos River and made ethnically insulting comments in magazine interviews.
The San Miguel County Commission responded by tabling Kilmer’s application until he comes forward to explain his comments. It has scheduled a June 23 public meeting for that purpose, which Kilmer is expected to attend.
That, in turn, has drawn fire from the New Mexico chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, which has offered to represent Kilmer, saying the commission violated his 1st Amendment rights.
Calls and e-mails to Kilmer were not returned, but he recently told the Albuquerque Journal that he had tried to be a good neighbor, helping local schools and supporting wildlife preservation on his ranch.
Sandra Bullock Makes Surprise Appearance To Thank ‘Our Extraordinary Troops’
by Big HollywoodBecause there weren’t already enough reasons to crush on America’s Sweetheart, Sandra Bullock - ….
People.com [emphasis added]:
There to accept the “Troops Choice” Award for Entertainer of the Year, from presenter Robert Downey, Jr. — the honor was bestowed by members of the military — the “Blind Side” Oscar winner, looking stunning in form-fitting black, leather mini-dress, received a standing ovation from the audience inside the Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles.

“Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. We’re all going to be honest, right?” Bullock, 45, told the crowd. “Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. [improvised explosive device] explosion that became my personal life?!”
Once the laughter subsided, she added, “No, it’s okay. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops , and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself.” …
