Celebutard of the Week: Joe Jackson
by Andrea PeyserIn the unappetizing race to scavenge the remaining flesh from the bones of Michael Jackson, Joe Jackson, the star’s Daddy Dearest, is turning the singer’s death into a spectacle unimagined by Barnum & Bailey.
Joe, to whom his son left nothing in his will, is the architect of the star’s final world tour, putting him on display like a freakish piñata. Joe also disrupted a weird press conference this week to promote his record label, unable to resist waiting a millisecond to profit from what is shaping up as the biggest celeb death of the decade.
This is why Joe Jackson is my Celebutard of the Week – in keeping with my book, Celebutards: The Hollywood Hacks, Limousine Liberals and Pandering Politicians who are destroying America. (Kensington.)
In his life, the superstar was clearly damaged beyond repair, reconfiguring his face and allegedly sleeping with underage boys. You need to look only as far as Jackson’s relationship with his father to understand where it all began. Jackson has said in interviews that his father was a tyrant, beating him mercilessly if he missed a dance step, ridiculing his dark skin and wide nose.
Michael Jackson’s pop talent was undeniable. So was his status as a predator. He seemed unaware that there was anything wrong with reliving one’s childhood through the company of young boys.
Had Joe Jackson been a better father by even one-tenth, would the world have had a Michael Jackson? He was his creation, as well as his failure.
One thing father and son have in common: Neither seemed to believe his chosen hobby is wrong.

I used to really dig his "Is She Really Going Out With Him" song. It'll never sound as good now.
There is something disturbing about the "Weird Al Effect" at work here.
Weird Al does a Nirvana parody, Kurt Cobain dies. Al does several MJ parodies, MJ dies years later. Eventually Doug Fieger (Geoffry Feiger's brother) from "The Knack" (My Sharona / My Bologna) is going to keel over dead, yet nobody will be looking Weird Al's way.
Where was Weird Al when Dan Blocker unexpectedly died during surgery? Why did the news leak out about Jeff Goldblum's demise in New Zealand, only to be recanted when we find out Weird Al's charter jet to New Zealand was grounded and he could not make it over?
Forget the "Truthers" and 9-11 consiracies out there. Let's get to the bottom of "The Manchurian Entertainer" who calls himself Weird Al.

LOL
Although I was never a fan (only bought one single–the 45 PRM of "Don't stop 'til you get enough" when I was in high school), his death has hit me really hard, and I can't understand why. I keep drawing the connection (and have for years) between Michael and his whacked out father as the reason he became the way he did. Just the comments made here helped to confirm that. I know personally what abusive fathers can do. I have a younger brother who at times seems a little bizarre (if you only knew) himself, and I probably seem a little weird to others as well. My sister is not to be left out either. At least my father admitted his wrongdoing (alcohol abuse), asked for forgiveness, and has tried to make amends with his children.
Every picture I see of Jackson Sr. it seems that all that is missing is for him to be in a hood with a scythe typical of the "Grim Reaper"…what a creepy old clown…
Yep. Jacksons are freskish sure as shyt. But she (Andrea) pointed at the JJ leach component, *in that context* I see irony in her book plug .
Nuthin' wrong with a book promo per-se just this context it is ironic.
Also funny how some so called conservatives in this thread serve up a knee-jerk response when one of us ain't goose-stepping to the same tune.
Thanks for that, Dcase. I consider myself a lapsed Jehovah's Witness, and I appreciate it when someone gives us a decent shout-out. Witnesses are often told to try to avoid fame because of the way it conflicts with the spiritual guidelines and scriptural interpretations. When I was a kid I found this hilarious since I thought it would be awesome just being famous, but growing up and seeing many Witnesses rise to fame and then self-destruct, I think there is something to embracing a humble lifestyle if you're in the faith.
Joe Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton. You gotta know they are best buds.
Is it my imagination but does Joe Jackson look a little like the ghost of Colonel Tom Parker after Elvis died and shining up the floors at Graceland to sell tickets to tour the Jungle Room? This guy has no shame.
What a creepy looking guy. What is it with the men in that family and makeup?
Ouch! I already heard MMMMBOP today…..AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHGHGHGGGH!!!!!
2 freaks – one living, one dead.
I hope this old black buzzard gets what's coming to him
I think it is damaging for republicans to label liberals as the only bad guys. Sure, there are people in the left who are idiots, but the same thing could be said about the right. Has anyone watched "The 700 Club"? It's hate speech pretending to be spiritual, just like Real Time with Bill Maher" does nothing but lump republicans as racists, homophobes and backwards.
Me, I thought "I'm the Man" and "One More Time" were great, but I never knew he was such a tool.
A freak drug/plastic surgery/media attention addict is given a free pass because allegedly his father abused him over 40 years ago and he was a "great talent" . Great excuses for a child molester — NOT!
And this has to do with this thread how?
Yeah, I heard about Jackson exploiting his own son's death at What About Our Daughters:

You have to be one evil, selfish man to sink THAT low. Even dictator Saddam Hussein had more ethics than this Joe Jackson.
Well, there are people like myself who've condemned Joe Jackson along with well-known Black bloggers like Gina McCauley:
http://www.whataboutourdaughters.com/2009/06/an-o...
The problem is the same liberal MSM that glamorizes White deviants (e.g., liberal Hollywood) does the same for Black ones. This makes non-Black Americans THINK that all Black people support Joe Jackson when the opposite is true.
Wow, it's always weird when evil people really look evil!

Notice I said the usual suspects. That doesn't include ALL Black people. Many I would imagine can't stand Joe or Michael but are silent because of peer intimidation and racial undertones that prevade society. Some are courageous enough to stand up for what they really believe and moral decency. But a few doesn't make a crowd and the average street person seems to be cool with Joe because 'It's Michael's Daddy'. Just look at who attends the spectacle for Michael Jackson at the Staples Center. Even a Child Molester will get a big send-off in the Hollywood and Black community because of the color of his skin and his fan worship. It disgusts me to the max.
He settled out of court the first time and was acquitted the second time. It was criminal stupidity to let children into the house after the first event, but we do live in America: innocent until proven guilty. Tom Sneddon bent over backwards to convict him and couldn't do it.
Michael had some serious social maladjustments to say the least (thank you daddy Joe!), and was guilty of terrible judgment — but that's not a crime.
sorry for the delay…
Jackson's tragic greatness can only be understood if you follow his belief system and how it clashed with the secular world. Funny no one else caught this… Fame can be dealt with humbly (Oliver North comes to mind) but poor Michael was a prisoner. Not a fan either, but could never understand the vitriol aimed at him. Terrible tragic life…
