Celebutard of the Week: Janeane Garofalo

Yet the uncouth actress will never be punished, vilified or marginalized, because she openly disparaged the one ethnic group which enjoys no Hollywood protection. That would be white people. Particularly, white people from the South.
What do you think would happen should anyone turn the tables, reverse the races, change the geography, and denigrate an urban person of color? The conservatives I know do not resort to gutter talk.
For her bold and unbridled racism – offenses that are sure to draw deafening applause by the American left – Janeane Garofalo is my Celebutard of the Week, in keeping with my book, “Celebutards: The Hollywood Hacks, Limousine Liberals and Pandering Politicians Who Are Destroying America.”
Given a forum to comment on the previous day’s tea parties, in which hundreds of thousands of conservatives gathered to protest President Obama’s tax policies, she had the gall to declare,
“This is about hating a black man in the White House.” Huh?
“This is racism straight up.” She was just getting started:
“That is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. And there is no way around that. And you know, you can tell these type of right wingers anything and they’ll believe it, except the truth. You tell them the truth and they become-it’s like showing Frankenstein’s monster fire. They become confused, and angry and highly volatile. That guy, causing them feelings they don’t know, because their limbic brain, we’ve discussed this before, the limbic brain inside a right-winger or Republican or conservative or your average white power activist, the limbic brain is much larger in their head space than in a reasonable person, and it’s pushing against the frontal lobe. So their synapses are misfiring. Is Bernie Goldberg listening?”
So there it is. Anyone who believes higher taxes would be ruinous to this country is deemed dangerous. Anyone who disagrees with any policy Obama might enact is racist.
Not just racist, but a “teabagging redneck.” That sure shuts down the debate before it can get off the ground. Which is the entire point.
I think I’ll have a T-shirt printed. “Teabagging Redneck Against Taxes.”

What has amazed me about this sad little rant is that she basically tries to infer that A) She psychic. She has to be right? She just told us what 300,000+ people were thinking. B) She must have some kind of medical degree to know the mechanisms of a conservatives brain. Wow, who knew?
I would suggest not getting that shirt made up… how about a shirt with Garofalo's picture and the words "Teabagging Keith Olbermann" with a picture of Olbermann on the back with his face distorted in pain. You know, that constipated look he always has.

Have you every actually listened to Keith Olberman? What she said was pretty tame compared to some of his imbecilic rants. You know, I would post some, but they are so reprehensible, that I can't subject anyone to them. They are however, easily accessible online if you dare.

What an imbecile. So glad to know what she thinks of me now. Since I'm so retarded, I'll choose to lose my way to the theatre for any movie she makes. Oh, wait….. that's right…. this hate filled chick can't find work, I remember now.
You know, I just gotta ask. What exactly is Garofolo's deal? She acts like an angry lesbian– I say that because my first boyfriend turned out to be gay and I remember him going through this same kind of angry-at-world phase. Of course, he came to terms with himself and outgrew it. But Garofolo seems stuck in some kind of adolescent tantrum. I just wonder why.
I've known two people that thought exactly like Janeane Garofolo and they're now dead. One died of drinking himself to death and another who died of a brain tumor that grew as he became more and more anti-Bush. I worry that there's something beyond her control wrong with her. You can be anti-anything we stand for, but Garofolo's beliefs and attitudes are that of a sick person and I feel sorry for her. Sadly, if there's nothing wrong with her physically then she's the most sanctimonious, privileged elitist jerk I've ever seen.

Years ago she was a pretty good comedian, ok actress, nice looking and not as hard edged politically (or rabidly anti conservative). It seems that over the last 5 or 6 years she's really kind of lost it. Don't know whether it's her career slowing down, the disaster on Air America, something in her personal life or just basic craziness. It's pretty sad listening to her now, her rants don't make any sense and for her it all boils down to racism and ignorance by anyone whose opinion isn't the liberal party line.

Everytime I see her I can't help but think of the time I met her at a party in New York. She smelled bad, her skin was covered in pimples and her hair looked like it had not been washed in days. I think we are all paying WAY too much attention to JG. Like most of the Hollywood types, she craves attention and would probably walk down the street nekkid if she thought anyone would pay attention. Instead she rants incoherently to Olberman and hopes that someone notices.
OMG, can you imagine waking up and seeing that face.
It's kind of sad, really – she used to be charming, and at least mildly funny. Back in the day, I rather liked "The Truth about Cats and Dogs". She's just Dixie-Chicked her career, or whatever is left of it. I wouldn't spend a dime now to watch any movie with her in it, or watch anything on TV with her in it, or give to anything she fronted as a personality. As of this week, there are too many perfectly nice, well-meaning, non-racist non-partisan and fiscally responsible citizens who went to Tea Parties last week… whom she just kicked in the teeth with that disgusting and illogical rant.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's BH entries, so that photo just goes away.
OK, the fact that this tripe was spouted on Olbermann's show doesn't surprise me. At least it's technically a commentary show.
But seriously, how can anyone take her seriously when she starts spouting off about limbic areas of the brain and mis-firing synapses? She's a neurosurgeon now? What did her chyron say? "Janeane Garofalo/Actress-Liberal Activist-And this just in: Neurosurgeon! That would make for a crowded chyron, but you get the picture.
Please kind sage, if you deign to see fit, supply me with these scientifically peer-reviewed, medical studies that prove that once you start holding more conservative opinions your brain malforms and quits properly functioning. And how if those opinions are reversed the brain returns to 'normal.'

While I don't agree with the things she said, I think you guys are taking her words too literally. Everyone uses hyperbole to make an impactful statement. She doesn't literally think that some peoples' brains are different, it's an exaggeration that she used to put emphasis on the thoughts she was communicating. No, Garofolo really believes it. I've seen her comment on how the conservative brain is malformed many times. She buys into some pseudo science she picked up somewhere. I don't think Garofolo is doing anything for "effect," she believes it wholeheartedly. It's so irrational, and that's why everyone is wondering what's wrong with her.
When did Garafalo become a neurologist? Her rants have become more hysterical by the day. I say let her rant. It's amusing, if nothing else. Clearly personal hygiene is no longer a priority for her either.

I'm really embarrassed for her. Clearly she has no idea how transparent her diatribe sounds, particularly when she lacks the evidence to back up what she said. Of course, she makes loads of money pretending to be somebody else, so she probably feels guilty about that, and feels good that Obama wants to take it all away from people just like her. Those of us who fight to earn what little money we have don't really possess this type of guilt, and most of us aren't so willing to easily let it go to a government who is so wasteful.
I get the feeling that the Democrats are using Obama as race bait just so they can go on this type of rant when the majority of America disagrees with any of his policies.

I actually in a way think that Chan is the greatest movie star…but his comments, yikes, that Chinese need to be controlled by the government is not only racist but stands against everything his career has demonstrated. In fact I think he probably was kissing up to his hosts for financial reasons, but I fear maybe he's just another star uncomfortable with the fact that anyone but him has freedom.

I would like to protest this selection, Andrea. Its not that Garofalo does not deserve COTW, she regularly makes an effort to win it. But it does mean that Jackie Chan's moronic statements before a crowd of Chi-Coms won't make your headline. And when he suggested that perhaps people of Asian descent would be better off "controlled" by the Chinese Communist government, I think he beat out Janeane. I mean, even she would not be stupid enough to say that. So please, speaking as an Asian person, be more diverse in your selection.

It can be alleviated to a degree cosmetically or prophylactically (prescription drugs, group therapy) but her issues are deeper than chemicals and the physical body.

Liberals panic at the idea of Free Men. The whole concept of freedom for all, individuals self-governing, upsets them, sends them into grotesque negativity: 'someone HAS to control THOSE people, the mess, look at that guy, not controlled…'. Chan's remarks may be accurate on a behavioral level about people (he refers to as "the Chinese") who are USED TO being controlled by a communist government, but, the fact is, he's appealing for decreased democracy. His conclusion that the disorder he views in Hong Kong "needs" or requires increased communism inorder for life to be good is disturbing. But he speaks like a compliant communist, regardless — Hugo Chavez and the Castro brothers, for starters, would pat Chan on the head for his encouragement of the demeanment of the worth of individuals.
They're promoting homosexuality so, of course, they're not going to ever admit that what they've said has gone too far. The Left uses every opportunity to promote that issue and related/associated behaviors, and, take a look at who, specifically, is using that term.

Garofalo uses slang for a homosexual act, calling tax protesters "tea-baggers" as a sign of hatred and contempt. That sounds homophobic to me. But I must be mistaken, that can't it. It's funny. The biggest racists I've ever known were left-wing. In any case, the single most harmful thing ever done to black America (apart from slavery) was to create a welfare state that pays young women to marry the government rather than the fathers of their children. To my mind that policy is even more harmful than Jim Crow.

It's entirely possible that Garofolo may be projecting her hate on others, while maintaining her bitterness. In a documentary about Air America, you get a real insight where some of her angst comes from.
