Then they answered their own question when they decided it was their role to protect Al Gore from An Inconvenient Question.
Phelim McAleer, the director of Not Evil Just Wrong, asked Al Gore about the British Court Case which found his documentary An Inconvenient Truth had nine significant errors.
McAleer said that given his documentary is being shown in schools – does he accept the errors and has he done anything to correct them?
However, Mr. Gore declined to address the issue and when asked for a straight answer from McAleer – the response of the Society of Enironmental Journalists was not to applaud one of their own for bringing truth to power but instead they cut the mic of a journalist.

And, by the way gore was trying to answer the question on a technicality. Polar Bears are 'on the endanger species list' due to the supposed global warming, not due to declining population.

Several folks were in the wrong in this instance, but whoever cut the "mic" was not one of them. It was wrong for Al Gore to evade the question. It was wrong for the other journalists to support Gore's evasiveness and to oppose the asking of tough questions. However, as someone in the excerpt said, it was not a debate. It was a forum for Al Gore. When it became clear that Mr. Gore would not address Mr. McAleer's issues, that alone should have told us all we needed to know; Mr. Gore's dissembling was a tacit admission of the weakness of his position. At that point, Mr. McAleer had no more of a continued right to the microphone than the "Don't tase me, bro!" guy did. Please don't turn the free speech issue on its head.

I live in Madison WI and only wish I had the chance to go down to the hotel where he was bloviating….er, speaking. He has a very friendly audience here in Moscow…er.. Madison. Watch out for comments like these. The Thought Police in Washington have interns and other wee minions deliberately posting inciteful and threatening comments on blogs and news groups that oppose their vision… this so that they can later link the blog/newsgroup owners to their ever-ambiguous definitons for domestic terrorists. I'd recommend deleting these comments as soon as you see them, questioning the poster to find out who they "really" are, and if they are legit, make sure that you ask them to refrain from posting anything that could inevitably be used against the site itself.

McAleer seriously didn't expect anything else than what he received from Gore did he? Al Gore has never answered any questions regarding the factual errors and inconsistencies in his Global Warming hypefest.
Its actually two scientific terms: global warming is the increase of the entire globes temperature. Climate change is what scientists study because we have a few dozen climates around the globe. Remember when America experienced a cool July? It was the second warmest July on record global. NASA released data and showed a cool spot over the United States and orange and red in many spots. This is a complicated, yet understandable science.
Not a fan of Al Gore by any means, but on the basis of science, crazy spikes up and down in temperature is more proof that global climate change is real. The only thing debatable is how quickly the planet is in trouble.
Again I have one simple question for these "environmentalists" to answer.
What is the optimum level of CO2 in parts per million to exist on the planet and why?
You complain the Antartic ICe Cores show an increase of 280-380 in fifty years (you seem to ignore the issue of condensation of CO2 at the South Pole when ambient temp falls below -78 degrees celcius). What is the level that is best. Explain why warming the planet and increasing the biomass by increasing the level of CO2 availalble is not a beneficial turn of events?
This is the same man who told reporters two years ago that “balance is bias”.

Man made global warming is a hoax, being sold to the American people by snake oil salesmen. There are scientists who have debunked the theory of man made global warming, but no one is listening because it is all about the money. The corporations that are pushing for it are making money from it. They are making green from going green.
There are laws on the books regarding pollution to keep our air, land and water pristine. The government sets certain standards on the amount of pollution. However, clean air credits can be purchased from other companies if your company is more of a polluter. (Emissions trading) This does nothing to reduce the amount of pollution it just balances it out. Those credits are then traded (bought and sold) for money.
Companies are being formed to sell carbon offsets, wherein people pay the company money to offset their use of carbon vehicles. In turn the company is supposed to plant some trees………
……The incandescent bulb is being outlawed; in its place are the compact fluorescent bulbs that contain mercury a hazardous material. There are reports about mercury in the water supply and in certain fish and it is deadly. (Mercury poisoning) Thomas Edison has to be rolling in his grave.
Al Gore, Chairman of Generation Investment Management LLP, has been making money from this hoax and just recently had Gnewt Gingrich do a commercial with Nancy Pelosi about Global Warming. Gingrich stated he had to get on the stage in order to discuss it, but by getting on Al Gore’s stage he accepted the premise of man made global warming. He should have had Al Gore come onto his stage with the scientists who could debunk this hoax. Again it is all about the money.

The House of Representatives just passed the Cap and Trade (i.e. Cap and Tax) bill because of the Hoax of global warming. This law will cause our energy prices to rise and make it more difficult for you to sell your home among other things. Obama stated under cap and trade he will bankrupt the coal industry and energy costs will necessarily skyrocket. Under a cap and trade system, government sets a cap on the total amount of carbon that can be emitted nationally; companies (like Goldman Sachs) then buy or sell permits to emit CO2. The cap then gets cranked down over time to reduce total carbon emissions, increasing costs. Remember ENRON? That was a company that traded in CO2 offsets……
As anyone with even just a third of a brain has figured out that Al Bore (and the rest of the lying socialists of the world) have invented "global warming" as a way to squeeze money from the working serfs. Thirty five frickin degrees at the start of last night's Phils/Rockies game. I think we are in the midst of a global warming period and, quite frankly, I don't care if it is natural or man-caused. The bottom line is, for the most part, at any given time, the Earth is either going to warming or cooling. Let me tell you, between warming and cooling we are much, much better off with a little warming. If the Earth were to cool several degrees the pain and suffering would be many time worse than the warming we are experiencing.
Those boneheads who think we can control global temperatures are really, really wacko. Most plans that have been considered are completely ineffectual… and those are the good plans. The effective plans have two major problems. First, they are so expensive that they threaten to bankrupt most major world economies and, second, even though they *might* lower global temperatures they have an equal chance of doing nothing or, worse yet, lowering temperatures way too much. Can you imagine politicians (frigging POLITICANS, for Pete's sake) sitting around debating whether we should lower the world temperature by two or three degrees. These people have trouble regulating the temperature in their homes with a freaking thermostat. What makes them think they can just 'will' the Earth to be exactly 2.5 degrees cooling (mind you, not 2 degrees and not 3 degrees, but 2.5 degrees). What a bunch of idiots.

Global climate change is very real. We have had numerous ice ages and warming ages throughout the history of the world. The only things that are debatable is how can we reduce the large number of pollutants to CO2 which is a necessary part of the cycle of life for all carbon based life forms (read: everything that lives on this planet) How can we place a tax that effectively makes every creature that breathes a legal pollutant and subject to such a tax merely for living. How we can reasonably expect to tax this "evil" CO2 and expect that this will make it go away? How come there were so many heating and cooling trends before the advent of the Industrial Revolution? How we can reasonably expect to to legislate what is a natural occurring portion of the natural cycle of the globe? Can we tax and legislate earthquakes? Tornadoes? Hurricanes? Other naturally occurring events and make them go away?
Is the subsequent destruction of our economy that will result from the regulation of a single pollutant worth it when China, Russia and India have all refused to participate and will subsequently create more pollutants than the US will while their economies thrive and we revert to third world status? Does it make any sense to take pollutants from someone who creates less pollution per barrel of oil consumed and give it to others who create more pollutants per barrel of oil consumed? Does the global climate change on Mars mean that the results of man's actions are that far reaching or that the actions of humans are relatively small in the overall picture?
There may be more but … unfortunately, the science is not by any means settled and to attempt to legislate based on speculation is a sure road to abuse and control.
Global climate change is very real and has been around for as long as there has been matter. What is debatable remains open to debate.

Yes inciteful is a word. It originated years ago and was largely considered an informal conjuction of the verb incite, thus turning it into an adverb. It received a rebirth of sorts in the last year thanks to the left demonizinging right wing talk shows.

According to the enviromentalists that promote Global Warming this is all based on the CO2 levels of Ive Cores in Antartica. Except to briefly mention it (usually they do not even explain what the study is they just say experiments have revealed) and to explain that CO2 levels will rise from 380 to 900 ppm in 25 years of we "do nothing" what other actual evidence or explanation as to "Why" have you ever heard.
Also why are the scientists who state thate increase temperature and CO2 levels in the earth's past has led to an increase in biomass never asked to comment on this debate. When have we heard any one of these activists explain what the optimum level of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere is. How can we tax and spend billions without even answering this one question.
Let's not make the mistake to say there is ZERO evidence. There are studies of Antartic Ice Cores and they do show an increase from 280ppm to 380 ppm in a 50 year cycle. The experiments however do not agree with other scientific experiments such as Greenland Ice Cores. They do not state what effect the cold temperatures below -78 degrees C have on the ice core samples. (This is the point in norma atmosphere the CO2 condenses solid dry ice). This evidence also does not offer any information on if CO2 levels are rising where the increase comes from. I have yet to hear anyone mentioning a study detailing the amount of CO2 increase in the atmosphere to cause the recorded levels in the ICe Core experiment to the amount of CO2 made by various other factors including natural as well as man made. As for as we know recent volcanic activity may have had more of an effect. There is evidence I think the problem is it is being purposefully misinterpreted.
