‘U.N. Me’ Sneak Peek: Swag Bag
by Ami HorowitzI’m putting the finishing touches on my feature film coming out later this year called “U.N. Me” (unmemovie.com), a satirical documentary on the profound failures of the United Nations. Over the next three days, I’ll be presenting clips that represent the flavor of the film. Part one is “Swag Bag.”
–
Anytime I go to a major event I always make a beeline for the swag bags. When I was at the U.N.’s conference in Geneva recently I made sure that the first thing I did was to run over to the tent and grab me some swag. This swag bag was, let’s just say, a little different form the normal fare of frisbees, night lights and promotional cd’s.

Looking forward to the movie Ami. Should be a lot of fun!
Ooo, a free rock. That's kind of like Craigslist.
I like the Swag "Bag" preprinted with phrases of tolerance.
"….a satirical documentary on the profound failures of the United Nations."
This is going to be one LONG documentary. As for the swag bag, good to see the UN putting all that money we send them to use.
I'll have to keep an eye out for this movie.
Serious question: why do so many conservative counter-docs have lame parody titles? "U.N. Me"? What the hell does that even mean?
It's like "F— Me". Perhaps you prefer the pure fiction of a fat slob like Michael Moore, say "Sicko", a complete pack of falsehoods and "Castro sucking", a complete waste of celluloid…
For the umpteenth time, I would order the U.N. to vacate U.S. soil within 6 months; lock, stock and both stinking barrels. Where? WHO CARES! For years the U.N. has served as a internation pulpit to spit on America and Americans trying to secure freedom for people living in the garbage dump that is most of the rest of the world, people that have no voice in their own countries. For instance Iraqi college women that can NOW walk the streets of Bagdad without Saddam's sons kidnapping them and raping them then sadistically killing them. Kofi Annan made MILLIONS circumventing and perverting programs that aimed to isolate Saddam that should have been providing basic services to that oppressed country. The U.N. response? They prefered "status quo" because "the business of Iraq was Saddam, and Business was GOOD!" Tear down that piece of crap of a building and replace it with a tax paying businesses and a small memorial park to the VICTIMS of the U.N. Sooner the better…
tear it down or, like in "Heavy Metal", convert it to low rent housing.
Because the parodies of Liberal "Counter-docs" are so……..easy.
Amen to that. Utterly useless organization. Move the UN to Caracas, Venezuela.
About the UN, one must read the John Bolton's book : " Surrender is not an option : Defending America at the United Nations and abroad" Threshold Editions.
The UN is a democratic organization. The problem is that most of its membership are not democrats. It is corrupt (and its corruption is a peek at what we'll be seeing in the US as the "stimulus" billions are distributed) and utterly impotent when it comes to alleviating human suffering (except when it calls on the US military to provide the teeth) It should be evicted from Turtle Bay as soon as possible.
The UN is a useless as teats on a boar hog. Exile to Haiti, Rwanda, Pakistan, just get it the hell out of America.
I predict the critics will ignore it, and the Academy will not have a place for it among the Best Documentary nominees. I also predict that the media will continue ignoring the UNs many wrongdoings, including the Oil-For-Food scandal (largest corruption scandal in human history, not that the media cares) or the Peacekeepers raping kids scandal (you have to be an American soldier to get criticized).
It will probably have a hard time getting an Oscar nomination. I'm assuming there are going to be a bunch of pro-Obama and anti-Bush documentaries coming soon that will receive the accolades. Nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised a few years ago when Waco: The Rules of Engagement was nominated.

Personally, I think they should relocate to Somalia. They can take a cruise along the shores of beautiful Somalia…..
My name is Ami Horowitz and I produced and directed U.N. Me. I appreciate all your comments. We are just trying to show how deeply the U.N. has failed us in as entertaining a way as possible. The video clips that Big Hollywood will be posting over the next couple of days are not from the movie just things we shot and put together for the web.
i really enjoy hearing form you guys. Good and bad.
The UN? sounds like a great movie… but serioulsy the UN has done nothing and will continue to do nothing for the BETTER GOOD OF THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!!!!!
What a croc… the League of Nations would have done better!!!! LOL
The Evil League of Evil might be better. At least we'd know they were out to screw us.
That is just soo true….. it is like they waive there fingers at anything, O and we will bring sanctions against you… it is laughable!!!!

Well done indeed! We need more like you!
indeed.. a rock.. I feel like Charlie Brown on Halloween. At least the cigar will come in handy for whitehouse interns…
Just finished reading at another BH post how Turtle Bay was where the British Army moored it's prison hulks during the American revolution, where hundreds of American prisoners of war died of disease and mistreatment. The UN manages to to be a comedown even from that historical low-point.
Maybe it'll have to be divided into multiple parts, like History of the World, Part 1.
"You and me."
It's a play on words. Like "Fahrenheit 9/11".
"Geneva, Switzerland: home of the people who wouldn't fight the Nazis."
Great line.
Good luck with the film, Ami. I will be keeping an eye out for your postings.
It is important to note that while it is certainly worthwhile to recognize and to mock the tremendous failings of the den of vipers that is the United Nations, we must not lose sight of the fact that the United Nations Organization was created as the nucleus of an evolving world government — a socialist world government, at that.
The revolutionary internationalists in the Roosevelt Administration began designing the "General International Organization" which became the United Nations Organization as far back as 1941, according to documents released by the State Department. At the time the UN Charter and UN Participation Act were up for ratification, and during the years to follow, there was an intense debate raging in America over whether the UN would be strong enough to accomplish its goals or if another more powerful organization should be formed to take its place.
In noting the catastrophic corruption and ineptitude of the UN, it is crucial to make a distinction between criticizing it for its failings as simply a matter of disdain and using its failings to justify revitalizing it or replacing it with a more "competent" body with a similar mandate. The United States should revoke its membership in the UN, rebuke its goals of world socialism and cease all funding for the organization immediately. If possible, legislation should be passed reasserting our national sovereignty and preventing the United States from becoming subject to any form of world government by any other means than the processes provided for in the Constitution.
Somehow the word will get out to Jon Steward and Obama that the majority of American people have had enough of both crazies and no appearance is going to change this very fact. As a matter of fact it just might have the opposite effect. Seeing Obama in yet another TV appearance with a host who bends over backwards for him spewing his lies once again will be another turnoff that will excite more conservatives and possibly even more democrats to vote against him and who have had enough of this comedy and Obama who makes the American President look like some stupid clown, clueless and looking for a sucker to feed on.
"We're here at Geneva Switzerland, home of the people who wouldn't fight the Nazi's"
True, but they made up for that by giving us the cuckoo clock / (sarc).
Very funny, Ami! I especially like the "home of the people who wouldn't fight the Nazi's" line.
I've seen some of the early trailers here at the Big sites. It does look good.
It'd be an infomercial compared to the satirical documentary on the profound failures of central planning. It goes back to humanity's first attempts at civilization.
For the umpteenth time, I would order the U.N. to vacate U.S. soil within 6 months
Can't do that. Its a free country. They own the land, I believe it was donated by Rockefeller.
Damn, some times freedom can be a b*tch, but its still preferable to slavery.
I guess my view is that it is useful–to our enemies.
….Thanks for all you do, Ami…..Stay Strong, Brave and Beautiful for Freedom !……..
Ken has it right. Think of it like a license plate. U N ME
Or like texting.
Or rap lyrics.
It's really not all that difficult.
And if you're concerned about the title's relevance, the doc's about the UN. The U stands for "United". Kind of a way of saying … U N ME working together, right? Only they don't.
Looking forward to the doc, Ami. Congrats!
One correction. The hosts bend over forwards for their dear leader.
I think the appearance on the Daily Show is going to backfire as well.
But they did provide quality banking services for them.
There's that.
