Henry Waxman AWOL on NEA and ACORN
by Ari DavidI am running for Congress for the seat currently held by Henry Waxman and the events of the past week give me the opportunity to highlight the differences in ideas and actions between Congressman Waxman and Myself.
So, what would Ari David do about the NEA and ACORN scandals?
I would unleash Congressional hearings on ACORN and hearings on all of the government officials involved in the NEA propaganda conference call. I would also immediately call a press conference and do whatever I could to make the media cover the story. One perk of being in public life is being able to draw attention to an issue. These scandals are issues that are screaming for more public attention.
As Ben Shapiro pointed out in his BH piece, laws may have been broken and if they were, we must find out what Obama administration officials knew and when they knew it. We must find out what they did and what they tried to do to either obey the law or break it.
The public hearings I would hold on the NEA scandal would have all the players involved testify under oath. This would include Valerie Jarrett, Rahm Emanuel, Buffy Wicks, Yosi Sergeant and many others. As we say in Hollywood, it would star a cast of thousands.
I would grill these people and hold them to account for breaking President Obama’s pledge to clean up Washington and keep lobbyists and lobbying out of his administration and then, if criminal wrongdoing occurred and if no prosecution or investigations by the justice department took place, I would call Eric Holder to testify as to why.
On the ACORN issue, I would call the Rathke brothers to testify about the institutional failure and corruption that the community group is filled with and make sure the public had every opportunity to be aware of the collusion between ACORN and the SEIU. I would also do everything I could do to force ACORN to open their accounting records to the public.
The NEA and ACORN scandals must end with accountability for the responsible parties at every level. It would be one of my jobs as a Congressional member to ensure that the public had access to the truth.

Of course the little pissant is a.w.o.l. He is only interested in investigations that track with his political views.
I wish you all the luck in the world beating out that corrupt and despicable little worm.
As for his 'investigations' into wrong-doing, I remember how 'tough' his interrogation of Hillary Clinton was. Compared to the 'hardball questions ' he asked of her, Charmin toilet paper is like using corncobs.
Admiral goals and I wish you all the luck and help along the way you need to realize those goals
Having the White House folk testify may be a bit of wishful thinking if previous events are any indication.
Dumping Waxman would be a big win but you will need some powerful help to do it all.
Considering all the *fine* politicians currently serving in Congress from the Great State of California, we should have let it go bankrupt, if only on the slim hope that hidden somewhere, there is a clause prohibiting seating delegates from a bankrupt state.
Californian's should be ashamed of themselves.
God, that is an ugly man.
This would be tasteless, if it were anyone besides Waxman. Comparing Waxman's likeness to Lon Chaney's unmasked Phantom of the Opera is eerie, to say the least.
"When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." Thomas Jefferson
"If someone is so fearful that, that they're going to start using their weapons to protect their rights, makes me very nervous that these people have these weapons at all." Henry Waxman
Ari, good luck! BTW Don't forget to remind constituents how Henry called all Reps opposed to Cap-and-Tax 'un-American.' Not that it would take much digging to find a truckload of Mr. Waxman's many insanities.
All of this sounds wonderful, but I'm not sure how much tooth it has so to speak. Many mentioned you would call to Congress to testify, I don't believe would have to come and speak with you. Not that I don't want Waxman dethroned, but I'm just saying, this sounds more like lip service and I really don't mean this in a bad way. I'm more interested in what you would do to never have allowed this to come to pass in the first place, how strong you would be when strong armed by the "powers that be".
Gee, I wish Californias majority could read your remarks.
No reflection on Mr. David as I wish him well, but just click your heels Dorothy.
If he isn't a direct picture of Napoleon in Animal Farm. I don't think George Orwell himself had a better vision. You'd think a man like him living in Hollywood/Beverly Hills, would have a nose job by now. Can't believe he's held office for over 20 years. There is a shining example of why we need to abolish gerrymandering!
Whats worse, having this guy as my rep or being a pen pal of Chavez. Somehow it all fits.
Waxman is a very low level creature. If he supports the death of unborn babies. He supports all the hatchett jobs against californian farmers, He wants to tax till it hurts, Why would he find anything wrong with ACORN??
Mr David, I live in your district and I'll be voting for you. I've voted against Waxman at least eight or nine times now. Given your constituency, I think you should try to associate him to Obama and his atrocious treatment of Israel and contrast it with his cozying up to the Holocaust denying Ahmedinijad.
If you don't mind, update us on his progress periodically .We wish him much luck.
It will be tough to dump this dirt bag… he's got two powerful political forces behind him: Acorn and an army of air-headed yoga instructors in West LA and Santa Monica who "really want to make a difference."
But I'll be pulling for you in Woodland, Hills, Ari.
Frankly, Mr. David's credentials appear pretty thin. Is he affiliated with a political party?
Mind you, were I in this district I'd vote for Charles Manson before I voted for Henry Waxman, but it would be nice to support a candidate with a chance of winning.
Good one Ari! If Waxman had any integrity at all he would do what you are you would do. However the Democrats make a lot of cash in exploiting the poor. Which is why your idea on getting the Rathke's to testify is fantastic. No way is Bertha Lewis the power behind ACORN. She is the minority face of ACORN that the powers that be want to show the rest of the world.
People either seem to be unaware or ignoring the CPSIA, passed with bi-partisan support and signed into law last year. This law came out of Waxman's Energy and Commerce Committee. Despite widespread condemnation of the law, and repeated calls from Representatives and constituents to hold a hearing on this law, Waxman has blocked every request to hold a hearing on the law.
The CPSIA, in case you aren't aware, requires independent 3rd party testing for lead and philates for any product that is designed and produced primarily for children under the age of 12. The effect of this is devastating to small and medium sized businesses that cannot afford the testing and overly burdensome labeling requirements.
As an example, a small company that makes building blocks for children with numbers and alphabets in 6 colors would have to pay for each color to be tested at approximately $100 per test per color. If the sets are made individually, (ie not in an assembly line production) EACH set of blocks must be tested.
This means that a $20 set of blocks now costs over $600.
Small businesses cannot handle that.
The range of products this is hitting is enormous. Bicycle frames must be tested (because we all know kids chew on them.) Children's motorcycles and atvs must be tested. Tires on bikes must be tested (because the valve is metal.) Rhinestones and plastic beads must be tested. The CPSC is recommending that childrens books printed before 1985 be destroyed as there is no way to determine if the ink contains lead. If it is made for a child, it must be tested – each part. Each color. Each run.
The irony of this is that this law grew out of concern for lead paint on some Chinese products that Mattel imported. The paint was used illegally, but if the law didn't work, the solution is to make more laws.
Billions of dollars in tax revenues are being lost as small to medium home based businesses are closing. They simply cannot afford to stay in business.
Waxman doesn't care and has thwarted every attempt to revisit the CPSIA.
And Mattel? The company that started this whole mess?
The obtained a waiver from the law and can do their own, in house testing on their products.
Waxman has to go.

How are you going to defeat Waxmuseum? He was first elected in 1974. Has has over a million dollars on hand, and has raised an additional $400,000. He typically raises and spends far more money than the average congressman.
The top five industries giving him money are hospitals and nursing homes; lawyers and law firms; electric utilities; health services and HMOs; and health professionals.
His top contributors include: the American Health Care Association, the Federation of American Hospitals, the Machinists/Aerospace Workers Union, the Operating Engineers Union, the American Hospital Association, the Laborers Union — even UPS and Wal-Mart! (Data courtesy of http://www.opensecrets.org.)
As somebody else put it, I'd vote for Charley Manson before I'd vote for Waxmuseum, so you already have my vote. But if I am going to open my wallet, I need to hear a carefully laid-out plan detailing exactly how you are going to realistically defeat this creature.
And THAT, Mr. Waxman, is precisely why some of us hold the 2d Amendment in such high regard.
The Waxman from the black lagoon needs to be defeated.. I would start by pointing out that he took the hypocritical step of exempting Congress from health care reform. What is good for the goose is good for the elitist gander.
Excellent stuff, Ari! Keep pounding like this and the formerly impossible task of defeating this disgrace to American politics will become easier and easier.
God, that is an ugly man. Good luck on dethroning this guy. Ask him for me how many years did he have the "cap and trade" in his desk drawer? You'd think if you had it that long he could have at least read the bill with his frickin' name on it.
To rip off Beck "I'm just sayin'"
Great article Ari…………….This is the reason why Ari David will conquer Henry Morgan Waxan in the next election!
I think there is a guy named Tony Dolz running against Waxman. Dolz is running as a Republican, but he is a constitutionalist. Hopefully, he can get your vote and support. I wish people in your district would wake up and look at his picture you can tell that pig vomit like him (Waxman) is up to no good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44fPSn7VxKs see teh difference between a real politician and an idiot WAXMAN
They say politics is rock stardom for ugly people. Well, there you go. Waxman looks like a RAT! And he's about as sophisticated as a RAT. Living in Hollywood, you'd think he knows a plastic surgeon or two. Enough already – Let's feed this RAT to a python….go Ari!
Without a party affiliation stated by Mr. David, I would say BS!!
If he's a Democrat he'll be just another Waxman, if he's a Republican he should say so.
I get the impression he's running as a third party conservative. AKA the "Snowball in Hell" party.
"The top five industries giving him money are hospitals and nursing homes…"
So, are they pretty pumped about this "health care reform" thing?
Should he win (best of luck, really!) he'll be lucky to call for more TP in the Congressional rest-room, then. Calls for hearings would invoke laughter at the 'new whacko from Hollyweird'.
Sometimes a rat appears as it is.
I wonder if after he eats, he wipes his face with toilet paper?
I just took a look at that link. It makes me want to plant my fist in that ugly, nasty, face of his. Rude SOB.
I live in Waxman's district and you have my vote.
Good Luck Mr. David in your quest to unseat this slug of a man and for trying to do your part to clean up the cesspool that is Washington DC in general, and Congress in particular. I would be hard pressed to name a more loathsome group of people than the current crop of Congressmen, except for maybe trial lawyers, actors, college professors, and Obama groupies. There are others but I have only had one cup of coffee this morning and can not think.
I really hope all the candidates currently with their hats in the ring to defeat Waxman — Ari David, Tony Dolz and David Benning — set aside whatever egos are needed to set aside so that one of them can focus on the task at hand.
Now is the time to bring down and kick out this abomination to SoCal, California and the USA, probably the best chance in years, and I'd hate to see the problems that plague far too many GOP candidates I've seen in CA, notably the ones in the gerrymandered district known as Waxman's, trip up the opportunity. Total armchair campaign managing on my part, but taking the fight to Waxman now and for the next 13 months will do nothing but suffer as long as support for a GOP candidate splinters.
I'm behind Ari David 100%, but I also really hope all the candidates currently with their hats in the ring to defeat Waxman — Ari, Tony Dolz and David Benning — set aside whatever egos are needed to set aside so that one of them can focus on the task at hand.

I mislead you, my remark was poorly written. I don't live in that district tho my sentiments are
as yours. Waxman would have to look up to see whale poop. He is a poster boy for California
politics. We need to look no further for one reason why the state and country is broke.
Good Luck to Tony Dolz.
I agree with you 100%. I'm not voting for Meg Whitman. I'm supporting Chelene Nightingale for GOV. Check out her site http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com if you haven't heard of her. Whitman is just another RINO.
That's OK I don't live in his district either. My cousin does though. You can support Chelene Nightingale for governor if you want to. http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com Meg Whitman is just another RINO who'll do nothing to enforce our immigration laws. Nightingale is the one person who we truly need for California.
Has anyone aside from myself noticed that Waxman is almost a dead ringer for the goblin bandleader from "Harry Potter"?
And nobody's ever seen the two of them together…
In his original post on BH announcing he was running, he states he's seeking the GOP nomination……
My God what is that thing !!! Oh sorry, it's just Henry Waxman. What an Idiot, what kind if folks vote for someone like this.
Wax-off-man is a gelatinous wad of $h!t grease and I hope you end his reign of tyranny in the US Congress once and for all time.
Good luck. While your at it, please punch some Commie f@g junkie hippies and/or Hellywood celebrities for me. (They're both the same thing, really. Sorry for the reundancy.)
YES! My kids noticed that he looks like the head goblin for Gringotts Bank in Harry Potter! Both frightening and both want control of the money–eerie!
