Henry Waxman Votes Against Defunding ACORN
by Ari DavidHenry Waxman, who for most of his years in Congress has fancied himself a crusader against corruption in government, voted against a House bill that cut all federal funds to the embattled group ACORN.
ACORN has been involved in a myriad of scandals and it is not unreasonable for any Congressman from either side of the political aisle to question ACORN’s recent actions out of concern over the way they conduct business. Judging from the results of the vote to cut their funding, many Democrats did just that.
The vote passed overwhelmingly, with only 75 House members (all Democrats) voting against the bill. Only the most vehement supporters of the Democrats’ liberal agenda voted to continue ACORN funding, with Congressman Waxman showing his true colors as a member of this fringe.
Waxman portrays himself as a voice of reason and deal maker. The truth is that he’s a left-wing fanatic and an abusive bully who, by siding with ACORN on this vote, revealed that he has no problem with the thug-like tactics and electoral fraud activities of ACORN continuing with the help of huge amounts of taxpayer money.
As more is revealed about ACORN, I hope moderate, centrist Democrat voters (and there are a few) from Henry Waxman’s district realize that our local Congressman from Los Angeles has totally lost touch with his constituents’ needs and has been seduced and corrupted by extremist views.
Waxman spent years turning over every stone looking for government corruption in the Bush administration and steroid abuse in major league baseball. But when it comes to ACORN’s indefensible activities, the last person to notice or care appears to be Henry Waxman.

My wife and I lived in Ca for 15 years up by San Luis Obispo. What a beautiful state and me being a avid Motorcycle rider loved it. But it was people like Hog Faced Waxman that made us leave, The state and national politicians that that state produces are just insane. Could not afford to live there any longer. We should just cut that state loose and make it it's own country.

Personally Harley, I lived in Orange County for 3 years and never saw beauty in a State that had shrubs for trees in the mountains and choking smog. I wasn't impressed. Most of the State is Desert. I also grew tired of the literal freaks on the roads and most the State has New York Brooklyn accents that drove me nuts.

I like to read true storys, and Jon Krakauer has a new book out entitled "Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman" Krakauer was imbedded with soldiers for 5 weeks researching for this book, and one of them was Jared Monti, the soldier who was just posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was killed 2 days after Krakauer left Afghanistan to come home and finish his book. Krakauer has dedicated his new book to Staff Sgt Monti. It should be a pretty good read, I really enjoyed both "Into the Wild", and "Into Thin Air"……………..2 absolutely fascinating true storys by Jon Krakauer.

RobertoK: let me fill you in on a dirty little secret. I am a native Californian; born in 1949 in Los Angeles. California was once a can-do, press-on-regardless, dynamic, freewheeling place of dreams that could come true. We built automobiles. We built a large percentage of the aircraft that flew in WW2. We made steel. We made aluminum. You could drive just about anywhere in any place with the top down on your car with no fear of being attacked.
The late 50s onward brought an influx of New Yorkers, Massachusettsites, ("Massholes" for short), other New Englanders who brought their collectivist, busy-body, coddle-the-criminal mentalities with them. None of them had ever seen a taxpayer-funded do-gooder program they didn't like. They never saw a social program they didn't want to support (with other peoples' money of course). They never saw a minority they didn't want to "help" as long as they didn't move in next door.
50+ years of this mentality has brought California to the condition it is in. I finally got fed right to the teeth with it all and left in 2005. I go back to visit my mother every few months, and within 3 days am dying to get back on the plane and come home. I live in Nashville Tennessee now. Folks are polite, prices are reasonable. English is still spoken here by the natives, as opposed to "like… you know… whatever… okaaayyy?" that young Californians speak. The state government here laid off state employees rather than raise our taxes, and even our Democrat governor went along with it. It has its faults, but all in all, I am positive I made the right decision.

This is the same guy that after thousands, if not millions, of people wrote to their Congressmen concerning the impact of the new CPSIA llaw, decided to hold a hearing where no one but the head of the CPSC was called.
Because of this law, small to medium sized, local, mom and pop stores are closing. Many people think the law doesn't affect them, but if you have a yard sale with kid's items, you are breaking the law. Libraries are being told to pull children's books printed prior to 1985.
Instead of listening to the people, Waxman holds a hearing where he can stick his fingers in his ears and say "nothing's wrong!"

If you take 5 minutes to checkout Waxman's resume, you will find The Peter Priciple demonstrated to a T. He has a political science degreee from UCLA and a law degree from there too. After that he spent 5 years wirth a law firm – doing what is not said… With this brilliant, diverse background he entered CA politics – then the US House and now the Senate… And now he is the Energy and Health guru – despite having NO hand-on experience in either career field. He sponsores cap-and-trade legislation but cannot answer even the most basic questions about its provisions. We are supposed to think THIs clown has gravitas?
The best thing that could happen in the USA is to pass a Federal law prohibing anyone with a law degree form holding ANY publci office for 10 years. After a decade of relief from people with create nothing ansd pend their lives attacking people and suing them, we might be able to clseanse the COngress from ebing led by societal non-contributors. Lawyers are destroying this nation and life now is one constant worry that anything you say, do – or now even THINK – will lead to yoru personal bankruptcy at lawyers' hands.
