The Left Cries ‘Racist’ in a Crowded Country

In its obvious zeal to create a one-party state, the Democrat-Media Complex (the natural coalition of the Democratic Party and the mainstream media) last week seized upon the horrific murder of a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington as an opportunity to ascribe blame to the American conservative movement and to further marginalize the Republican Party.
In record time, the media’s blind partisans and their feral friends in the left-wing blogosphere used the alleged “lone wolf” act of James W. von Brunn – an 88-year old self-avowed racist and anti-Semite – to try to affirm the controversial Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report that posited ” right-wing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president” and are a becoming a growing domestic terror threat.
The networks, CNN, MSNBC and the New York Times – the usual obnoxious suspects – toed this specious ideological slander, even though it smacks of the kind of profiling that the left rejects. Even Shepard Smith of Fox News jumped to the same conclusion by offering a surge of nasty notes in his in-box as proof. (You should check my e-mail, Shep!) If a newsreader on Fox News thinks it’s true, triumphal lefties crowed, then it must be!
While Mr. von Brunn is afforded the descriptor of “alleged” perpetrator before a court of law convicts him, the conservative movement is granted no such due process. In a country where the individual is “innocent until proven guilty,” conservatives have been forced to actively disassociate themselves from an ideological lineage to white supremacists, anti-Semites and other racist miscreants. And these days there’s less and less media space for them to fight this unfair accusation.
Rush Limbaugh, the bete noire of the Democrat-Media Complex, came under fire last week for disclaiming von Brunn from the mainstream political right. Mr. Limbaugh, no stranger to such high-level orchestrated slanders, righteously challenged President Clinton and his media abettors for connecting nonexistent dots between right-leaning AM talk radio and Timothy McVeigh’s bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1994.
Fifteen years later, the glaring media double standard of putting only “right-wing” groups on public “guilt by association” trial is still on display for all who care to see.

The killer was obviously a leftist. He was a 9-11 Truther (hard left), despised "neo-cons" (which is leftist code for conservative Jews), and hated Christians. What's hard right about that? Anti-Semitism is the new darling of the left, up to and including self-loathing Jews. Calling him a rightwing extremist is like calling the Unabomber a rightwing extremist.
…Which a leftist tried to do once, to me. He told me the Unabomber was a Christian fanatic, at which I asked if he'd read the Unabomber manifesto or knew anything about the man or who he bombed. Er, no. If he had, he'd know the freak was the ultimate anti-Christian communist greenie idiot who used his own excrement to fertilize his pathetic garden while bombing businessmen who were actually creating new technologies which make our lives better.

Your points are well made Andrew, although I'm not sure you needed to use the word "even" before Shep Smith. I consider myself a conservative and a Republican so I tend to get most of my t.v. news from Fox. I would even grant that Fox "leans" right, although the obvious retort is: so what, CNN, PBS, ABC, CBS, and NBC all "lean" left.
I think what bothers me most is that we seem to no longer have any "honest brokers" out there. Sure, I want my opinion shaper/commentators to be left or right, but I want them to clearly admit where they come from. What I really want is objective journalists who report news fairly and without agenda be it left or right. Perhaps those days are gone forever, but there is no reason they have to be.
I used to think the anchors and reporters were pretty professional and kept their personal beliefs out of their broadcast reports. Of course , I was younger then and maybe a bit naive. After all, has there ever been a network anchor at ABC, CBS, or NBC who was not a Democrat? Listening to Dan Rather deny he had any bias in his reporting at CBS became almost comical in it's absurdity. As Ike said in his farewell address "beware the Democratic-Media complex" (or something like it, anyway.)

Bang on the head, as usual, my cyber-friend. I posted a similar article from Pajamas Media last week (which you probably saw) on facebook. The first prompt comment I got was from a friend of mine who agrees with me about gun rights and that's about it. His comment was, "Well, this guy was against racial integration, and that's generally a right-wing idea, so I still say he was a right-winger." In spite of the evidence? Of course. It's a wall.

Not for nothing, but… I'm reasonably certain that even if DC DIDN'T have strict gun laws and everyone was carrying, you can't bring one into a location such as the Holocaust Museum – so it wouldn't have done them any good anyway. Am I wrong about this? The last time I was in DC, I had to pass a metal-detector everywhere.

While allowing that it's the height of nonsense to try and call this psychopath "typical" of either the right or left, the unfortunate fact of the matter is that ALL of his various paranoias were grouped under the umbrella of extreme anti-big-gov radicalism which technically does make his extremism of the the "right-wing" variety.
She's not an idiot, she despicable. She is knowingly exploiting this for political purposes in the hopes that she can tar an entire half of the political spectrum with these crimes. She knows that if people view the right-wing as a bunch of crazies, they won't support anyone on that end of the spectrum.
And when the lunatics on the left do the same things (i.e. ELF burning down developments, or the animal liberation people sending bombs to scientists, the Unabomber, Muslim terrorists, etc.), people like Napolitano fight to disassociate those lunatics from their end of the spectrum.

This pattern of media behavior, used religiously to target political enemies, resembles the formulaic principles used in years of, dare I say, big Hollywood production. If no direct, easy to exploit association, can be found, out march legions of translucent analysts with their obtuse projections. They then pour a foundation of sinister innuendo to force the association and any subsequent conclusions. It is classic groupthink, elevated from analysis to event shaping policy; Orwell would be frightened by the reality of it all.

It's all basic economics. Straight, unbiased, verified news doesn't sell. Plus, it's confusing. There must be drama. There must be a hook and human interest. They must take a stand and not waste the "opportunity to make a difference". There must be 'personality'. Remember when newscasters were chosen for their integrity and knowledge? Does Anderson Cooper fit that description? Does Katie Couric fit that description? News must entertain or the audiences go elsewhere. Therefore, in the service of personal power and the almight dollar, the media has become attractive with its sound bite explanations of complex events and creation of conflict where there is none. And print media, without talking heads for a ratings boost, has become all spin and opinion. Which confuses me because print media stands on the brink of extinction. They just don't get it.
Left-bias MSM predates "right-wing hate" radio by about two and half decades. There's a reason Rush et. al. are VERY successful. Trying to demonize or dismiss their huge (and growing) audience is a fool's errand.
Oh…one can almost always correctly predict that those who label conservative shows as "hateful" have had little or no exposure to it. Frustration, yes, but hate…no, not really. Listen for yourself and not to isolated sound=bites taken out of context.

Planet Hero, what hate radio? I've listen to Limbaugh for years, for so long I can't remember when I started. I've listened to Liddy, to Hannity, to Levin, Ingraham, Humphries. I've even heard button pushers like Boortz and Savage. Not once have I heard any anti-jewish statement from any of them. Just the opposite. The strongest support I've heard for Israel has been from conservative radio. I've heard anti-jewish statements from Obama's former pastor, from Louis Farrakhan, from Jesse Jackson, but never right-wing radio.
The gunman who attacked the museum was a relic from another time, long before talk radio. He's from a time when Robert Byrd filibustered the Civil Rights act. From a time when democrat governors were fighting against integration. Like a leftover mine on a battlefield, he unfortunately went off long after the battles were over. To blame his actions on talk radio is ridiculous.

I also find it sadly ironic that guns were banned at a building memorializing the slaughter of a widely disarmed populace, the inability of the inadequately armed to fight back against tyranny, with one of the most notable moments being the armed uprising of the Warsaw Ghetto. Actually by a strict interpretation of the Constitution we are allowed to possess such. Citizens could own the best weaponry available to the military at the time of its writing. These days you possibly could own all three, within a strict regulatory framework based with the BATFE for the last two.

#1: Talk radio is conservative because people listen to it while they're at work.
#2: The people running the business put whatever gets the most people listening on so that they can make more advertising money.
#3: Be open minded about what is said, take it in, think to yourself "does that pertain to me?", "how does this affect the people around me?"
#4: If you don't like it, turn it off, or find some …….liberal talk shows…….lol.

Taking away the umbrella classification of "right wing extremist" would be a start. For example, anarchists are anti-government, have shown themselves to be very dangerous, and are identified as being very far away from right wing. Also a classic example of anti-semitism is Palestinian terrorists, yet one can clearly tell they are not being supported by the right wing. By using wording designed for political gain they have focused attention away from at least half the problem.
Does anyone really think DHS needed to put out a warning on von Brunn? He was spouting his venom on his own website! As for gun-toting, does anyone sane think members of inner-city minority-grouped gangs are right-wing?
Contemporary news fits perfectly the "Cult of Personality" which politics has become and Hollywood has been for years. Obama, like Clinton, is the charismatic president, the personality president, a caricature president. Great to look at, fun to listen to, hell to follow. I had a spouse like that once. When Obama does it, we get to make great jokes about how The One was dissatisfied with the results of his Johnson inspection.
Hmmm, you do realize that one of the biggest things that Conservtives want is limited government to allow for maximum individual choice don't you? What am I saying, of course you didn't or you wouldn;t have written that. I assume that you are also logical to extrapolate the logical outcome of extreme limited government. Of course not or you'd realize that extreme right is basically anarchy governed solely by individual choice.
Luckily most conservitives are smart enough to know that we need some government, and we're also smart enough to know that you must have some basic standards of public behavior in order for us to maintain our maximal private freedoms. We prefer everyone behave civilly in public from personal choice though.

And if you ever listen to major parts of those "tapes" released by the terrorists, you almost couldn't tell the difference from what they demand and what the left wants to happen.

The political spectrum is a circle not a line. Most people are towards the top of the circle. As one goes left(counter clock wise) or one goes right (clock wise) the difference in political beliefs widens till the get the apex(about 3 or 9 o'clock respectively. At which point the two movements both left and right begin to become more alike. For instance nazi germany and communist russia had more in common then either had with any of the allied governments. Which brings everything back to my primary point. Radicals of either side have more in common then they have with the mainstream of their political spectrum.
There's a reason that felons can't vote ( at least for the present). When someone pulls a trigger he forfeits any political affiliation by the act of relinquishing his vote. From that point, the press gets to play " fill in the blank".

Leftists dont like Rush because he exposes the truth about the left. The fact that hateful leftists hate good people says more about the evil nature of the leftists. I suspect that Planet_Hero hates quite a few good people because he himself has lots of pent up hate against the good. That is how it works. When the wicked rule, only the righteous mourn. But the unrighteous celebrate.
Planet_Hero, you sound like a lying freak yourself. So your judgement as to what side of politics a person should be on is not based on wisdom. You sound kind of stupid. The right believes that all murderers should be punished, including this one. The left believes that they should be spared justice. In the end, the left will be defending this murderer and the right will be condemning him. You can have him. You will beg for his life later on.
The idea that a person will be left and right on every issue is rather stupid. Sort of like you, Vince.
Nobody wants to be associated with him but it is the left that will be found lying about his true nature and trying to associate this murderer with the right. The left does this because it has no morals and is used to lying about pretty much any event in order for personal gain. This serious flaw is associated with murder. To kill a person for personal gain shows serious signs of personal weakness and evil. To kill a person in self defense is acceptable. Along that same idea you will always find the left lying for personal gain, and misrepresenting the truth for personal gain.
Each person is unique. Each person is responsible for their own actions. The left however twist the truth in order to get personal gain. This shows that they have evil intent and dont mind abusing the truth in order to gain wealth, power or general personal gain. The left are simply playing their role whenever any event comes up. Years later you will find the left begging for the life of this murderer. That is the role they play. They dont believe in paying for your sins, they fear paying for their own sins so they will protect the evil as though it is themselves they are protecting.
It seems that MovieBob wants to do the guilt by association method on us today. MovieBob is wrong on pretty much every issue so it is educational to see what false conclusion he will draw today. Satan does his best to get people arguing over the wrong aspect of things. This guy is a murderer. The right will condemn him and want him punished and the left will end up begging for his life and denying that he made a personal choice and should be punished for it.
Here is a list of things that the left do today. They dont like a strong defense for the USA or Israel. They hate religion, Jewish and Christian especially. They tend to badmouth the USA whenever they get a chance and admit to weaknesses that we dont even have. Leftists promote themselves as non-racists yet they will be found siding with most of our enemies. And of course, leftists will be found lying on pretty much any subject, since they are ok with lying because there is no such thing as right and wrong amongst the leftist crowd.
