Jon David, A Pseudonym After My ‘American Heart’
by Andrew BreitbartIn case you missed it, Big Hollywood launched an important song for our times today.
Listen to it here:
Jon David, our anonymous Hollywood player known for trolling for liberal starlets and reporting back to his conservative compatriots at Big Hollywood, was inspired to write, perform, finance and record “American Heart” after a recent run-in with a cynical L.A. woman who at a Venice-area party admitted her contempt for the United States of America. But when Jon David asked her to name a better country, she couldn’t.
Read the rest of the hysterically funny and all-to-familiar story behind the song (and the lyrics, too) here.
‘American Heart’ — let’s get this song on the radio.
Let’s get it going viral.
We’ve needed something like this to rally around for a while. It’s got a perfect American blend of pop, rock and country flowing through its patriotic veins.
And if it does well enough, Jon David can come out of the shadows and announce who he is. Until we support our own, the Hollywood conservative is going to have to fly under the radar undetected by the town’s well-coiffed totalitarian liberals.

well, since we are all waiting for the estimable Mr David to come 'out of the shadows', as it were, and the song is a perfectly listenable jingle- then we say download it, play it, enjoy it…
and pass it around…
After reading the first response to this post by Andrew, it just makes me want to get this song out there all the more. Congratulations to Andrew, Big Hollywood, and Jon David. This can be huge.
a friend told me last week that i was prob on a fbi list somewhere for expressing my opinions about this administration so freely and bloggily, he said that i was probably followed to the party, that the fbi now knew that we were friends. i told him to man up and let the left have his fear, that by cowering he was mocking every sacrifice ever made to allow him his opinion even when it opposes the government. this is STILL america and we are STILL free, at least the last time i looked. and the plan is to keep it that way.
Wow… you know what? It IS good. I look forward to his weekly (ok, not really weekly) updates – because they are truly laugh-out-loud funny.
This song though? Top notch. Wonderful. Well done.
Can't wait to see who you really are.
I'm, pretty sure I am right next to you on the same list.
Mr B is absolutely correct. This song is JUST WHAT CONSERVATIVES/ REPUBLICAN PARTY must have.
It is the theme for success.
congrats to JD for writing and MR B for recognizing it's infinite worth.
This is THE Anthem. What else can be said? Song and lyrics gave me goose-bumps.
I've got American Heart too!!!! How can anyone not?
Just bought it after reading JD's post. HIlarious post and a great song.

One day soon, I will be able to say. I was a Conservative, when conservatism wasn't cool.
Absolutely agree….I can see the flags waving in the hands of true patriots at a summer concert….
Good stuff.
Sorry, I have to say … cheeeeeeesy. I appreciate the sentiment but it's a cheesy song.
Looking forward to my first negative score on BH!
I love this song. It made me proud again to have immigrated here from Brazil. I am proud to be an American. The song made me so proud but sad too because there are so many people in America who don't realize how great this country is. It's very emotional for me. Maybe this song will wake people up. Maybe the lyrics will remind all Americans
how great this country is. Mr. Breitbart you sure can find talent. Thank you for all you do and thank you for the song
American Heart.
ok, so it ain't great… you're right. It's heart is in the right place and we've heard FAR worse. No negative score from us for your honesty…
"I'm American. I got American parts. Got American Faith in America's Heart." Thanks Andrew. This will be in my head all night and into the morning which is certainly better than the news….God bless America
Welcome!
Sounds a hellova lot like Counting Crows.
Would surprise me a hell of a lot of JD was associated with them, though.
This reminds me of the Sean Hannity type songs and nothing wrong with that. It didn't touch me as hard as some of you but that's fine.
maybe it can be the kick off for some of our regulars to write some of their own.
Reagan Eighties or The Vandals, what say you?
Yes That's who it sounds like, Thanks
Rodrigo, your post, as an immigrant to our Great Country resonates with me, and I am glad you are an American. You no doubt, left what we are becoming. Thank You Andrew.
glad it wasn't just us… like we said earlier it's heart is in the right place and it didn't seem overly contrived- a catchy little number, that's pretty much it…

I just got home from a very difficult day at work. My wife played me "American Heart" And I gotta say: it gives me a lot of hope knowing there are folks out there fighting for everything on which this country was founded.
Thank you Big Hollywood.
Just downloaded it.
"Until we support our own". that's what i'm talking about. great song, jd – i've been in love with America all my life.
Finally Springsteen started singing for the right side! Fantastic song. Fantastic message at time where we need a message like this. Let's remember who we are. Great work.
Love it. It's like old Springsteen except with real heart. And refreshingly unapologetic. A definite download to my iPod.
'Jon David' is a slice of brilliant. Love his posts and the song. He deserves some kinda medal for his 'research'.
Cool tune, it has that Counting Crows vibe as was stated up-thread, I like it, and your post are deep and funny, keep’em coming.

Oh how that song affected me……I wanted to stand tall, and feel as I used to feel. Like an American with all the pride that goes with being an American. We all have American hearts…….. they are just not as recognizable as they once were. Play the song for us, play it again and again. So as to remind our hearts and our minds who we really are……
Thank you Big Hollywood and the talent you share with us.
If you can't do it, teach it………….
If youcan't teach it, critique it…………
a wonderful, poetic song for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
"..AMERICAN MADE, AMERICAN PARTS………….
I think with the exception of the planted moonbats to provoke us into saying things we don't really mean (smirk), we are all on the homegrown terrorist list being compiled by the big O. Here I am! (standing up waving my arms in the air) Come and get me for exercising my rights guaranteed by the US Constitution!!
Every time I see a soldier at the airport, I feel the need to thank them. I felt the same way after I heard this song. How do we make it viral? I'm not the most computer savvy but I'd really like to help.
I'm almost 13 years old and my dad just played me this song. I love it and think everybody should hear it. It is awesome and I want to download it. Thank you.
The song is good, the lyrics are great.
The only criticism I have is the big band rack/country theme does not always have to be utilized. This is not a criticism of Jon David but of the idea that the slow rock country ballad is the medium for patriotic songs. This song I think would have worked better with a faster edgier screaming metal AC DC feel. The "I won't apologize" line belted out as a warrior's challenge. It would also have worked with a more bluesiy feel. Still the song is very good. So don't let my random thought about the genre detract from that.
No negs yet I see
Great Song!
And Since today is the day when the Obamanation killed Chrysler, let me describe how this song makes me feel, using their words:
"The Pride IS Back, Born In America" (an old commercial slogan for Plymouth used in the mid 1990s).
If Mr. David is going to subject himself to this type of encounter on behalf of us, I think the least we can do is spread the word on his behalf. Consider it done. Great song…he's got my 99 cents
I was scanning the comments looking for something that matched my sentiments, and this comes closest. I'd only add that "I won't apologize," in any context, is not a "warrior's challenge." It does work, however, as a spontaneous, emphatic statement from someone who feels trapped in a corner and believes, in that way that only trapped and wounded animals can, that a stronger, more defiant statement could very well be his last. Which probably pretty much sums up JD's true feelings on the matter.

If this is the kind of stuff you create after those depressing dates with those lib women, maybe you ought to consider dating them more often.
The burden of such intense suffering is, apparently, good for your soul!
Goes well with Stuck Mojo's "I'm American." Nicely done, Jon David!!!
Great song; great lyrics. I think we have an anthem for the Conservative Resurgence of 2010.
you got my 99c
keep your self dating libs and make them see the light… if that even possible…
Sounds tome like the same guy who sang that 'Freedom Isn't Free' song for Team America: World Police.
I have to admit to wondering about this, too. I have a Gadsden flag sticker on the back of my car – I'm waiting for the moment someone challenges me for it. We live in scary times.
I love this song and I'm going to buy it tomorrow.
I love Young Cons on youngcons.com and YouTube.
I think TristanT nailed the sentiment…..and I was wondering the best way to make this viral as well…Suggestions?
Abandon the fear and you will create extraordinary things; the value of your American spirit is greater than the value of your keys to Kingdom Hollywood.
America hungers for Liberty's freedom, inspire her in confidence rather than demoralize her in fear; come out of the shadow for you have nothing to hide.
I think really the only way of writing a "Conservative" song these days is to take a somewhat snarky tone. That's the approach I took before the election with my two tunes "Shill" (http://vl.am/EAD) and "Spreading the Wealth Around" (http://vl.am/yB9) . Not GREAT maybe, but not cheesy either.
This song would be giant in the South. I could hear it at huge sporting events. Well done.
WHAT A WONDERFUL SONG AND SO NEEDED BY AMERICA AT THIS MOMENT,
WILL BECOME A CLASSIC.
If you don't buy my reeeeeeeeeeecooooooord
Then Al Qaeda wins
suggest you email hannity with that suggestion…we/the country needs this song
FABULOUS!!!!
Sending to everyone and posting everywhere I can!
Email to everyone you know. Post to any and all blogs you frequent.
Beautiful! Powerful! I'd like to see/hear the song with a great video behind it.

I think he'd be pleasantly surprised at the support he'd get from America. It takes bravery to stand up when you are surrounded by elitist socialists but the pay-off will be great. And worth it.
We are not the minority. We just simply aren't as loud, obnoxious and rude as the real minority is.
BEAUTIFUL.
THANK YOU.

I second… I too am an immigrant. A very blessed American – darn lucky one too(!!!!)! to have landed in America- Land of the Brave, home of the Free!!!!!
I have a playlist that has all sorts of patriotic songs on it , from "Proud to be an American" to "It's a Grand Old Flag," for my self and my kids. I haven't added a new one that I really like in a long time. I absolutely love "American Heart" and will sing it loudly with my family. Thanks, Jon David.
Such a solid, solid, SOLID, song! Where has this guy been? This cannot be his first song that he has ever written. Who is he? I feel like Inigo Montoya in the Princess Bride when he was fighting the man in black. "I must know!"
