There Is a New Movement…

We are proud! We are united! We are loyal! We are kind and giving! We are decent! We are diverse! We are always seeking to improve ourselves and lift others! We are always the first ones to show up in time of need-anywhere in the world! We are the most powerful country in the world-but we are not bullies! We are family! We are friends and neighbors! We are Americans and we are without a doubt the best example of a free people the world has ever seen-period.

We are ready to let our voices be heard-loud and clear! We are going to show up whenever and wherever we are called to defend ourselves. We are going to defend all patriotic Americans against slander and libel, in and out of court with both our presence and our pocketbooks. We are going to show up in unprecedented numbers and vote out the garbage, both left and right, that claim to represent us but prove otherwise-time and time again. We are energized, organized, determined and willing to stand up against the lies, intimidation, corruption, media manipulation and government fraud that is and has been perpetrated against us for too long now. We are especially ready to fight and stop any and all efforts that are currently being taken to separate us from our constitutional rights!
We Americans must not stop this forward movement to regain our place in the light. We have come out of the shadows and we have made our presence known. We must stay united and we must remain vigilant and strong. We have been decent to a fault, we have been patient and giving to the extreme and apparently, that is not enough? We have turned the other cheek over and over and over again and-enough is enough! Far too many have mistaken our kindness for weakness and have wrongly chosen to try and take advantage of that. With the help of self-loathing apologetic traitors, sham artists, race baiting profiteers, nefarious and/or cowardly elected representatives, the excessively rich (yet constantly angry) simple minded liberal elite and the well intentioned but unfortunately misinformed and naive-those that have designs on our way of life and our country have made strides. There is an open and concerted movement in this country to replace our constitution with another ideology and anyone who is awake knows this to be a fact-no matter how they spin it! They have made a mistake! Those loyal millions that are voting for entitlements-who have none the less been screwed-are not the majority and the radicals were/are a little too eager to get the job done. This may have worked to some degree in the past and maybe it will work somewhere else, but it cannot and will not work here!

We are like no other country in the world-we are as free as a people/country can be and ultimately-we choose our destiny! We are determined to stop this tearing away of the individual and the growth of big government and return our country to our founding fathers vision and keep it that way-no matter what, who, when, why or how anyone or anything tries to change that! Remember what we Americans are made of! This nation is by birth fiercely independent and willing to stand up and do whatever it takes to preserve this way of life for our children and future generations. Despite lies turned rumors to the contrary, we are the most diverse nation the world has ever seen and never more so then today. For good reason this is the country the rest of the world turns to and all of us hard working, decent, caring, patriotic and common sense Americans are coming together the way it was meant to be-it works! The radicals and their minions didn’t count on us banding together-not this soon and desperately continue, with the help of the lame stream media, to act as if things are going precisely as planned-it is not! Do not be fooled-the word is out! More Americans hear the call, open their eyes and join our/their cause everyday. Our elected representatives seem to be a little slow and better get a backbone-soon! They would be wise to listen and to stand up with us or we will find others who will. For our part-don’t forget the radical/liberal/progressive left made it this far and they will not go or give up easily-we must not let our guard down. For those who do not understand what I am talking about and get their information from one source, keep in mind that we conservatives have nothing to hide. We always have links to liberal sites and feature their columns on our own sites-they never do that! Why would that be? What are they hiding? Why are they afraid to feature our “lies” on their sites? Would it not be in their best interest to do so? Get curious and notice what does and doesn’t get on the local and mainstream news-you’d be amazed!
Whatever the color of our skin, whether we are religious or not, rich or poor, old or young-we are united against all those who would come between us, our families, our constitutional rights and our God given freedoms The call to stand up and be counted has been answered and everyday, our numbers swell and the more the radicals push-the faster and stronger we respond!

a point, some logic, fewer vapid buzzwords like "socialism!!1?" or perhaps an alternative advancement of solutions for the problems you created and a point-by-point fully-cited discussion of exactly why particular programs championed by Democratic legislators would be significantly more detrimental to the country's future than alternatives (or why Democrats are especially radically far left as compared to mainstream parties in other industrialized nations) would also be nice. your case is also weakened greatly by what is easily falsifiable – neither of the two major liberal sites (democraticunderground and dailykos) has a link or a column, it appears.
no one really takes you seriously when your entire stated purpose is to oppose the Democrats for the sake of doing so, much like no one sought out the perspectives of the teenagers with the "buck fush" caps during the Bush years; you and people like you are the reason people are now ashamed to identify as republican.

this counter movement is not actually a counter movement. it is conservatives being conservatives. if we look a little uncomfortable it is because we are, we are normally working , eating sleeping and living. we are not used to having to rise up and do this kind of stuff, but, hey, crap happens and times call for it. do we look animated? sure, but our HEARTS are deeply rooted in the way of life we are standing up for and you may be surprised what power there is in that. stay tuned….

How about showing your kindness, decency and diversity by working with the side that won the election, fair and square? Your party is marginalized by its lockstep followers, screaming no! at every turn. It's further marginalized by its chosen spokesmen – Glenn Beck – Rush Limbaugh – both drug addicts, both clowns – have you looked at the demographics of your party lately? The GOP is in the majority only in the poorest southern states – which are also the states with the highest rates of teen pregnancy and STDs.

Was your first inclination to cheer for the sentiment of the article? No. You began with almost 50 words talking about grammar and proper sentence structure. Only after you've hammered us with a major "Buzz Kill" did you actually comment on the topic of discussion.
While the progressive troops use everything in their arsenal to drive us toward slavery to the state, regardless of any rules they may break, your comment suggests that maintaining our freedom is less important than showing proper form by being grammatically correct.
It is the passion and vigor of our responses that will save us, not commas, periods and hyphens in their proper location.

It is a movement where most people in this country identify with. Wasn't the breakdown 40% Conservative, 40% independent and a whopping 20% liberal? We are a center right country, sorry to break MeanMike's heart, but liberals are the minority. They just have had the biggest mouths for the past 40 years. The times, they are a changin'. People are seeing what lefties in power can do and it isn't good.

Has it ever occured to you that excessive, intrusive regulation and union strangleholds also helped to outsource jobs? Which party is more inclined to be busy bodies and intrude on business? That would be the Democrat party. If I were a business owner and had to contend with the amount of regulation and unions, I'd hightail it for the border too.
You are right about Bush, but very wrong about this movement. It is not about people following "someone" but demanding truth and common decency in our government. We want our country back!

Limbaugh and Beck are simply voices but, unfortunately for you, they are OUR voices. Alvaro. Loved the piece, seriously. Being a writer (and former blood-sucking lawyer), I (unfortunately) take note of certain idiosyncrasies in all writing. Believe me, nothing personal, it just hit me about the head and shoulders and, I believe, distracted the reader from the message. As you can see from further posts I have made this evening, I am a passionate member of these United States and am thrilled with the outpouring of comment since the Crowning of The One on January 20th. I meant my criticism with the best of intentions and hoped the light-heartedness would have been evident. However, having re-read it, I realize that the language was such that young JP took it a little more seriously than I had hoped. I look forward to your next post.

If you want to "rewind" back to some point in the past because of a few select things that were "better" then, you will also rewind back to all the things that WEREN'T better. EVERYTHING is connected: Do you want the glory of the modern city? Then you will also have the danger of the INNER city. Do you want a less restrictive culture in regards to sexuality? STDs and promiscuity are the price.

But the people who make the tides turn often decided not to go in the prudent direction. And over the course of many battles won and lost in many arenas, here we are. And we are tired of the crap. This 'new movement' is interesting, because it's difficult to work out what it is they're trying to say.
There's no truth whatsoever to the idea that these are 'normal people' opposing the rapid expansion of government. If they'd made their presence known five years ago, that argument may have had some currency. They've missed the boat on the whole government intrusion thing, unfortunately, so it's difficult to see this 'movement' as anything other than a bunch of sore losers grumbling that the guy from their team didn't win this time.
I could be wrong, of course. Maybe they're anarcho-syndicalists. Or, if they're truly committed to the idea of the government being reduced to nothing and getting out of people's lives, then maybe they're communists in the Marxist sense. I somehow doubt that this is the direction they're shooting in, though.
Again, wouldn't it be nice if all these people had something to say?

Bravo! I'm there with you. I feel, at least in this household, that we will NEVER sit idly by and let our freedoms come into this much jeopardy again. We will be watching our elected officials like hawks.
The Constitution of the United States of America needs to be protected at all costs. It is not flawed and it is not a living document. Finally it is not to be interpreted by using foreign laws or rulings. Progressives and the democrat party have been put on notice.

"Evolution" is neutral – neither innately positive nor negative – it is simply gradual change over time in reaction to circumstances.

You're kind of making my point for me. The ideals and words of the Founding Fathers remain brilliant, but what also remains is the fact that there was NEVER a point in American history when those ideals were implemented "to the letter." Hell, no sooner had they been WRITTEN than did some involved make haste to come up with a compromise by which "All Men…" didn't include Black Men.

It's the flip-side to Obama's carefully-constructed intangibility – it enabled him to be "all good things without explanation" to liberals during the election… but NOW it makes him an easy stand in for "all BAD things without explanation" to conservatives now. Everyone's personal god is some else's personal devil.
What?! Are you so full of your own ideals and of all those who believe that only HUGE GOVT is better that you are incapable of discerning when we people are sincere in our efforts to be heard? Many of us are learning and becoming involved for the first time in our lives in anything that seems so very important; not losing any constitutional freedoms! And yes, I am not ashamed to say I/we are becoming students again of our constitution in order to know in no uncertain terms ALL there is to protect in our constitution that it may last for generations to come in the same form in which it was written. It is not a living document.
How dare you or anyone else think that anyone of us is not capable of standing up on any given day and saying "OK, I've had enough! I should have done more sooner. Or, things are out of hand; I'VE been out of hand just by being less than proactive and not speaking up until now. Now we have a bull horn to use instead of our own individual voice and we feel empowered.
Do not underestimate us sir. If all of us haven't made ourselves clear to you in a professional enough way or concise enough verbage, it will not take long for to learn to do so. The learning curve looks like it will be fun ride and we are in this for the long haul.
Oh, and anarcho-syndicalists? They do oppose exploitation and domination in all forms but embrace socialism. The working class and working peasants, poor people are thought to be able to overthrow the govt. and control the land and factories for the benefit of all.
We are not looking for stateless power or a revolution of the unions or the masses to rule we will maintain a government "of the people by the people and for the people" as Mr Lincoln so eloquently stated so long ago.

That top picture MUST be of the lefty/commie protests at the G20. From what the press told us, it was peaceful and uneventful except for the cops stepping over the line and getting out of hand. That picture couldn't be of the unruly, anti-American tea party protestors.

I'm tired of having to explain this to supposedly educated liberals. Whether or not you are one Mike…socialism is not a buzz word, it's a form of government which we oppose. Yes, we really think this administration is socialist.
Remember Gillian, liberals are at about a 20% of the people in this country. The best way to get a Republican president/congress is to put liberals/Democrats in charge. People see what they do and they're out.
Also, it is not an "insult" (you didn't say that, others have) it's a description of policy. I'm not calling Obama that to discredit or defame him. Anyone has the right to believe in socialism as the best system in this country…I have the right to disagree.
Has it ever occured to you that excessive, intrusive regulation and union strangleholds also helped to outsource jobs? Which party is more inclined to be busy bodies and intrude on business or individual freedom? That would be the Democrat party. If I were a business owner and had to contend with the amount of regulation and unions, I'd hightail it for the border too. Jobs aren't a right. And business isn't in the business of providing jobs. It's just one of the side benefits.
We didn't wait 8 years. We complained for a lot of the 8 years – illegal immigration, TARP, McCain Feingold, selling out education to the swimmer-Ted Kennedy. Bush was no conservative and was essentially Democrat light. Except he had more balls on the national defense than your average Democrat.
So what's your point? That since politicians don't touch them, they're not socialism? The proposed healthcare IS socialism. It's centralizing an entire industry under government authority. Have you listened to some of your esteemed Democrat congressmen, senators and president? They call for single payer as their ultimate goal. It is socialism. Your party, the Democrat party I assume, is led by the far left (socialists/communists/facists) and they have clearly stated that they want government to run the oil, airline, auto, health industries. What am I missing here?
